Battery price are reportadly decreasing 73% since 2010,electric cars are expected to be as cheap as fuel-powered cars in the foreseeable future. The International Energy Agency cites that by 2020 up to 20 million electric vehicles will ply the road, a number that is expected to go up to 70 million by 2025.
In INDIA , the government has announced the vehicle scrappage policy to phase out old and unfit vehicles which are more than 15 years old commercial vehicles and 20 years old private vehicles.
Currently, in Delhi this policy is in action, and more than 10 years old diesel engine vehicles and 15 years old petrol vehicles are being deregistered automatically. There is only two authorized scrapping center in India and transport minister Nitin Gadkari said that there more than 17 lakh commercial vehicles which are more than 15 years old.
So it is really difficult to retire all vehicles into scap, therefore we need to find middle way to bring the solution to this problem. We can transform this old vehicles (according to scrappage policy) into electric vehicles, which will be economical and non-pollutant to environment. And it will be more affordable rather than buying a new vehicle.
