In previous blog session I had mentioned about Industries using CCS TECHNOLOGY for reducing carbon emission to the environment. And in other way our trees are also helping in doing that, because trees use carbon dioxide in photosynthesis process for making their food. But we are cutting them off for multiple purposes like for the land or paper or fuel.

Trees are essential livings of earth which are necessary for maintaining environmental balance, trees takes CO2 from the Air water from the soil and light from the sun for the energy but as we are unable to control population, we need more land.

More population means greater CO2 emission and we don't have enough trees for absorbing the carbon dioxide emitted by us.

Some of Paper making companies are assuring that they plants one tree for one pack of paper. This is good thing but manufacturing of paper is faster than the growth of the tree obviously so we all need to do this.

However, some scientists and researchers are working on developing the artificial photosynthesis process which can absorb carbon dioxide and use it for the energy.

Here is the definition from the Wikipedia,

"Artificial photosynthesis is a chemical process that biomimics the natural process of photosynthesis to convert sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide into carbohydrates and oxygen".

In artificial photosynthesis Photocatalytic Water Splitting is major process which is done by the set of devices.

In this process water is split by light energy into oxygen and hydrogen protons. Hydrogen protons are unstable so they makes reaction with CO2 and forms glucose/sugar (C6-H12-O6) and oxygen.

So by this process we reduce the CO2 and gets oxygen exactly as trees do for us. But Photocatalytic Water Splitting process is being the economical challenge for the researchers as the process requires higher energy for splitting the water which will be meaningless for reducing CO2. But in future with fastest growing technology we will made it, Hope has such a power that brings light in the dark.. :)
